With the resounding gong of the New Year being rung in, many are taking time to consider who it is we want to be this time next year. Do I want to be fitter, wealthier, healthier, or happier? Do I want to have more energy and resources to give to the things that I really care about? What do I want my relationships to look like, and what are the elements that REALLY impact the quality of my life?
I’ve found that life is not just a compilation of compartments that happily sit side-by-side, but experience has taught me that when one aspect of life is out of order I can be pretty sure that spiritually I am out of whack, physically, emotionally and relationally I am struggling and finances are sliding in the wrong direction. On the other hand, when I take hold of one area and treat it with respect and mindfulness, then the other areas begin to take order, peace begins to reign and hope and abundance spring up.
What small steps are you initiating in your life today that will carry you toward your dreams for 2014 – today, tomorrow and the ensuing days? Where do you want to see new life and abundance spring up and what courageous decision do you need to make in this moment to break through the things that hold you back? Beware the “never enough” mentality! Take what you have, where you are, and do what you can. If you do this consistently, every day, you will be shocked to find where you have travelled in the course of the next year.
I’m so looking forward to seeing where this gift of 2014 takes us! May you be abundantly blessed!
